Upcoming Dreams of Freedom Halloween Benefit on Thursday, Oct 29th @ Citrine Lounge in New York City
Each year hundreds of thousands of women and children across the world are forced into modern-day slavery for purposes of sex, labor and servitude. The Emancipation Network, a nonprofit anti-trafficking organization, in collaboration with Free the Slaves and local-based organization, Manav Sansadhan Evam Mahila Vikas Sansthan (MSEMVS), have recently focused their efforts to opening the “Freedom School.” Located in the Firojpur village near Calcutta India, the school will offer rescued and high-risk children the opportunity to receive an education for the first time, helping to break the cycle of poverty, enslavement and injustice.
In order to raise awareness for the issue and generate funds to support the school, Dreams of Freedom is hosting a Halloween Benefit Party on Thursday, October 29th 2009 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Citrine Lounge, located at 59 W. 21st St. in New York City.
There will be an open bar from 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Music will be provided by DJ Vikas. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. There will be various costume prizes including best group and most original, so please come in festive attire.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.wantickets.com/dof2009, or at the door, the day of the event.
